San Lucas, healthy destination

Akakana Experience is an initiative led by young entrepreneurs from the San Lucas parish, an ancestral territory formerly known as Tambo Blanco, who promote authentic community rural tourism, with practices that promote sustainable local development and cultural revitalization within a territory they know, live, love and share your heritage.

Our community

In the eastern part of the town of San Lucas (Loja province), in the Vinoyacu ravine and at the foot of the Acacana hill, in a small valley flanked by two streams is the archaeological monument of Tambo Blanco or Ciudadela.

People from Saraguro

For me, belonging to the Saraguro people is an "invaluable heritage, because it is the practice of values, it is life itself, it is the connection with nature, it is the connection with the cosmos, with the universe"
Jose Maria Vacacela
"The only alternative like Saraguro is to live our simple life, a life with freedom, full, a life linked to nature, a harmonious life with us and to say that the Saraguros are these, the Saraguros have this way of life and we live it as we are, it would be the best demonstration for the world because who does not change cannot ask others for change "
Jose Cartuche
"Let us never forget where we come from or where we are going. To set an objective, where we want to go, we always have to remember where we are. Where did we come from? Where were we born? What is our history? All of this is very important, to be able to do so. count, so that many people later learn from it and that our children know what we have had to go through to get there "
